Financial support augments our community engagement, lifting it up and making it bigger.
It amplifies our commitment to our community and creates even more possibilities.
Philanthropy looks different for everyone, but every contribution has the potential to change lives. It’s about hope, and possibility.
Like everything we do, our community support is underpinned by our values. Supporting women and people who are first in their family to attend university will always be deeply important to us. So, we invest in them and their possibilities.
Nicole co-founded the Chris Freeland AM & Nicole McKenna Scholarship at Monash University Law School in 2024. The scholarship is valued at $30,000 and runs over the 5 years of the recipient’s law degree.
Nicole was first in her family to attend university and graduated fifth in her class at Monash University Law School in the 1990s. That education created opportunities and possibilities that changed her life. The co-founding of this scholarship with her husband Chris is deeply personal, and a source of great pride and gratitude. Proud to be associated with her alma mater in this way, and grateful that she can do so.
As a Foundation Member of the AFLW Swans, Nicole didn’t need any convincing when the Foundation was seeking sponsors for individual athlete’s lockers.
The AFLW Swans are relatively new to the AFLW competition, and the women are some of the most hard-working and formidable people you could ever hope to meet. Their tenacity in playing AFLW at an elite level, while (often) simultaneously holding down another job or education commitment is extraordinary. The juggle is real. And enormous.
So, an opportunity to stand behind them and contribute to their success was too good to refuse.
The AWGMDC is a unique inter-varsity debating competition that provides an opportunity and a platform for women and gender minorities to debate in an elite environment. Nicole has sponsored the competition as a Gold Sponsor since 2024.
