Our commitment to supporting the careers of young women has never wavered, beginning as a partnership with Capital W in 2010, evolving in partnership with the UNSW Careers Service and UNSW Foundation after that, and arriving at the broad and flexible iteration it is today. It was, and remains, integral to who we are.
The coaching scholarship for young women is offered most years, and includes a financial sum as well as professional coaching support for a 12 month period (though the relationship usually lasts much longer than that). It is designed for a young woman, preferably first in her family to attend university, who has secured employment for the year following the year in which she is awarded the scholarship.
Applications open in around September each year, with interviews and a decision made in around November. The scholarship is advertised here, as well as on LinkedIn by Nicole. The next scholarship application process will open in September 2026.
Starting out in your career can be daunting. You don’t know what you don’t know or where to start. And if you’re first in your family to go to university, or pursue a professional career, you may not have many trusted people in your orbit who can help you navigate the pathway. Things like power, influence, politics and networking may not be ideas you’ve thought much about before. That’s where we come in.
We meet you where you are. We don’t expect you to know any more than you know, and we make it our business to help you fill in the gaps. But all in good time. We ask the right questions and give you the benefit of our wisdom and experience. We make connections and introductions that we think might be helpful. We support you as you navigate the early stages of your professional life and support you as you build relationships with those who will become your career cheer leaders. Our role is broad and evolving but always aimed at helping you to navigate your career with clarity, curiosity and courage.

And we’ll be there when you need us, to support you, to challenge you and to keep you thinking about what matters.
